Director Steven Rosenbaum compiles footage of the tragic September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on New York City and the ensuing several days for a chaotic, harrowing, and ultimately moving portrait of massive loss and how people cope with tragedy. Utilizing the work of no less then 27 independent filmmakers, 7 DAYS IN SEPTEMBER starts with the oft-seen footage of planes hitting the World Trade Center and the buildings' subsequent collapse. The subsequent footage, however, shows not only individuals expressing grief and sorrow, but also a city responding to catastrophe with determination and generosity. While certainly difficult to enjoy, this is a valuable document that is sure to evoke an emotional response. |
